Question: My 4 years old daughters vaginia is closing?
I took my daughter to the doctor today because she is always getting infections and they checked her a saw wear her skin is closing because she is very sensetive down there the smallest amount of grems from a bath or tolit seat can give her a infection so when she is healing after a infection like on a cut her skin is pulling it's self back together to heal but it's not suppose to down there she said if it closes any more it could cause her kidneys to fail she did nit hive me a name of it just ways to keep her clean and away from bacteria grim getting down there does anyone know what this is called I would like to research it and find out more about it thanks

It's called a labial adhesion and it's very common in girls 3mos to 6yrs. My daughter had it and the doctor separated hers right there in the office. It needs to be separated while she's young in order to save her from frequent bladder and UTI infections. I would def research it and/or get a 2nd opinion.



Vaginal closing in a young girl due to lack of estrogen. It is due to labial adhesion. It happens because the girls do not produce enough estrogen yet. The estrogen keeps the labia moist and prevents them from sticking together. You may want to ask your doctor for more information. An estrogen cream, obtained with a prescription, could be applied to prevent it from closing completely. One place that I checked recommended using regular petroleum jelly for a couple of months on the labial folds. Check out this website
