HOW DO YOU STOP SMOKING?!


Question: HOW DO YOU STOP SMOKING?
I've been smoking for 13 years and I feel it's time to stop!!
Mmm, here's the kicker, i actually like smoking,but not looking forward to the gasping for air and drowning in my own lung juices,lol (bit graphic).

I truly have tried everything and I just can't get something to stick,lol. I Don't want to stop and gain weight or die trying!!

So please anyone, please give me some advice!!!!

I don't know what you have tried to quit smoking. There are nicotine patches, gums, and all sort of things to help you quit smoking. But the best way is cold turkey. This takes determination and will power. Since you asked this question and realize the consequences of health issues down the line, it sounds like you're ready. When you go cold turkey, you will be grumpy for the first 3 or 4 days. But that's all it takes because after that, it's all down hill. You will feel better, think better, and know better. You won't have to worry about the odor on your clothing, hair and in the house. The ashes, the yellow teeth, and heart disease. It all comes from determination and will power. You know you can do this. I did it 23 years ago and have no regrets. Now, it's your turn!



I tried for years to stop. The way to succeed for me was to start running, being ready for it and really wanting it. Also I think I just made myself hate cancer-sticks. When I started running I could feel the pain in my chest and I knew it was the result of what I was doing to myself. Another mental trick that helped me was to minimize what I was doing by only having to refrain from smoking ONE cigarette - the next one. As long as I did not smoke that ONE NEXT cigarette I would succeed.

Good luck to you, it IS possible. Another important thing to remember is that IT GETS EASIER. As you go through 'withdrawl' from the drug it is very hard but over time the craving gets less and less. You just have to stick it out. It also helps so stay away from other people who are smoking ESPECIALLY when drinking. The less you drink the easier it will be also.

Try for one week to go cold turkey. How? Will-power baby! I did it and i have hardly any :P once one week passes the cravings pretty much stop :)

Cold Turkey. Smoked for 20 yrs. Smoke free for 8yrs.
