Question: Do i still need varicella vaccine for CNA program if...?
I have had the shingles before which is like the chickenpox, have documentation of the shingles? my health dept does not show that i have had the varicella but i know that i have had the shingles, i have a limited amount of funds so my choises are get the vaccine for 200, get a test to see if i already had it for 100 or get a document stating that i already had for 15 ... i just dont wanna do one then have to do the next...

Shingles is a reactivation of the chickenpox virus. You can't have shingles without previously having had chicken pox. So if you've had shingles, that means you have had chicken pox and you don't require the Varicella vaccine.

Perhaps it was some other illness you had. Just get an antibody test. If -ve, you will need the vaccine.
