i would love to know peoples opinions on Alternative approaches to health care a!

Question: I would love to know peoples opinions on Alternative approaches to health care and why?
Hello,
I would love to know how many people are familiar to a multidisciplinary approach to getting healthy?
I currently run one such office in NYC. We have chiropractic, physical therapy, internal medicine, nutrition and massage therapy. We believe that offering a true and thorough testing of your body. This "Health score" allows people away to see what is really going on with their body. We do a traditional exam along with toxicity, saliva ,nerve testing,bio-impedance, bone density screening, spinal ex-rays as well as finding out your normal daily eating habits(just to name a few) these will allow us to find out how your body is functioning and what we can do to help.We offer free educational workshops as well. Then our team collectively come up with whats best to get your body functioning at the highest level possible, using natural methods as well as education to get our patients there.
Do you think this is something that will benefit our current health care system? Do we have a need? What would you want to know about your body? How do you feel about such a model of health care? What questions would you like answered, that you feel like your current doctor doesn't answer?
I ask all of these, to see if we can create a health care model that people really want and need.
Let your voices be heard, answers that make sense and that we feel lots of people are looking for to will also be posted to our website. if you want to check out the website so you can get more info before answering such questions, please feel free. Its nythc.com
I thank you in advance for your help, and look forward to all of us making a change in our current health care system.
nythc.com is our website.....take a look and tell me if you think its a step in the right direction of a badly needed change in our health care system.

Firstly, do you actually employ anyone with real medical training and qualifications such as board certified MDs? Or is your organization comprised entirely of negligibly trained amateurs?

Such tests as 'bio-impedance and toxicity" are well known quack practises that have no known benefits and may actually harm people by informing them that something is wrong when there isn't. Why do you use such hoax methods? Is it ethical to expose people to unnecessary X-rays?

How can you have the gall to describe this as a 'health care model' when it sounds like all you're doing is offering massages and diet advice?

What do you do when someone presents themselves saying they have a headache, feel very sleepy and have been sick? Do you give them a nice massage, prescribe them some healthy nuts and seeds before sending them home to die of meningitis?

It sounds like the sooner this idea goes down the pan, the better.

ex-rays? Oh well

You know there is medicine and then there is the alternative to medicine. Sounds like you're not offering medicine at all.

All i can say at the moment is Best of Luck in your Endeavour to offer truely good health care and
by the way ignore the trolls parading on this forum.
Good luck and God bless. Cheers! :o)

With the economy in the toilet, and all the Middle Eastern turmoil poising to play hell with oil prices, people aren't going to have much tolerance for frilly, fru-fru things like mind/body medicine. With, or without "ex-rays".

Economies of scale will not be your friend.

ahh, the misguided university toilet cleaner from a great country stilll has not learned to read.
the internal medicine doc in your clinic along with the others you mention sounds as though the clinic is making a true effort to attend all the factors effecting health concerns of those lucky enough to find your office. stay with the effort! you will not be able to change the entire system but you can improve quality of life of one individual at a time. pay no attention to the rants of idiots.

The future of health care is.... REAL health care, and it sounds as if you have an excellent approach that will be valued by many.
People are fed up with the conventional model that's too often a case of managed disease care that is sadly lacking in any kind of pro-active approach that allows people to take responsibility for their own health and well being.
Ignore the trolls/pharma shills. The cognitive dissonance was likely caused by and continues to be fuelled by drugs.

Hi,

I'm a Naturopath - I think what you're proposing (doing?) is fantastic - and 'the way it should be'.

About 20 years ago, I managed a similar "whole health" clinic, which included chiropractor, medical doctor, naturopath, aromatherapist, colour therapist, masseur, acupuncturist, reflexologist, kinesiologist, and a couple of other modalities I can't recall offhand. We also had a large open area where we could run various courses, seminars, workshops, etc.

It was a very busy clinic, and a very positive place in which to work.

I wish you all the success such a positive venture deserves.
