Can you wear pure Myrrh oil as perfume?!

Question: Can you wear pure Myrrh oil as perfume?
I ask this in the alternative medicine section because I know this extract is used in aromatherapy. I figured there would be more knowledge of its scent properties here.

Answers:

Yes, but please note essential oils should not be applied neat (undiluted to the skin), as in their undiluted form they can irritate the skin. Most commercial perfumes are based on some form of alcohol, to dilute the fragrance, but this is also not always friendly to your skin.

A more gentle natural base use a carrier oil, such as Jojoba oil as they are very skin-friendly and as they are low in aroma, they will not interfere with the perfume aroma you want to create.

I've never smelled myrrh before, but if it's used for aroma therapy, then it's safe to use it as a perfume. Are you asking because it's an oil and not like a spray? because you can totally use oils as perfume--oil is actually the first form of perfume since ancient Egypt :] (though they used scented animal fat, it's still an oily substance).

No it could irritate the skin. Essential oils are highly concentrated and you should use a carrier oil. Add about 1/4 cup of olive oil, or sunflower oil, apricot oil to a small bowl and put in 2-4 drops of myrrh oil. Mix and apply to skin.
