What to cook for my sick husband?!

Question: What to cook for my sick husband?
He's tired of chicken noodle soup and I'm making a split pea and ham soup for his lunch tomorrow. What should I cook for dinner that is no so soupy but makes him feel a little better?
He's got a really bad head cold and he's pretty achy.
Also, does anyone have an old fashioned remedy their grandma used to use about colds/sickness? Those are pretty cool, and a lot of them actually work!
Thanks everybody.

Answers:

Well, the chicken soup works because it is steamy, and because it feels good to the throat.

Nowadays I use Sapporo Ichiban noodles (like ramen). This is available in beef and shrimp and other flavors. Unhealthy, but it makes you feel good when you have a cold

You can make a wet vegetable stew using winter squash, Chinese cabbage (nappa), potatoes, and shrimp. (We are quite Asia-oriented in my house!)

Or, get "dashi-no-moto" which is a Japanese soup or stew base. Usually it's like a large tea bag that you use to flavor three cups of boiling water. Then you can cook soft leafy vegetables in the broth.

From African-American cuisine, you can make pinto beans with smoked pork hocks. You can serve either rice or cornbread with it.

What I eat when I am sick is mashed poatatoes, corn, and a few piece of ham from the store heavenly ham. yum :D
For desert, I would defiantly make Jello ( with whip cream on top-of course :D ) That slides fown the troat easily.
About the homeade remedies, I would look that up on google. Try to avoid giving him milk to drink.
God Bless! ~Hope your husband feels well soon!

Well, my mother always makes this chili, on the stove.
She puts hamburger in it, and tomato sauce in it.
Try that.
I hope he gets better soon.

Make tortilla soup: take chicken soup, add some chili powder or red pepper powder and some tortilla chips. Yum!

he's a man. 2 paracetamol and a couple of cans of beer.

Throw in a plateful of cheesy nachos then :)
