LSD is much more potent than psilocybin. I've always found the experience to be more psycho-analytical, and personal but less visual than mushrooms. You'd have to eat around 5 dried grams (a heroic dose) of mushrooms to get the same level of intensity as LSD. But it is possible. The psilocybin experience is alien, paradoxical, and full of elfin merriment. Like a big cosmic joke.
Both substances give you access to higher dimensions.
All of the psychedelic compounds that exist within magic mushrooms (psilocybin and psilocin) are about as toxic as LSD. Naturalism has absolutely no relation with danger or safety. Hundreds of plants can easily end your life, while hundreds of man-made chemicals would require copious amounts. I've done the calculations and a colossal amount of research, and it turns out that LSD is technically safer than psilocybin mushrooms (due to the fact that the psychoactive compounds coexist with chemicals that build up to toxicity in the mushrooms in a large dose) even though psilocybin mushrooms are very safe themselves.
Honestly, I would try magic mushrooms first, just because the experience is half as long. But LSD and psilocin exhibit many similar psychedelic effects; they both pretty much give you the same type of experience, although LSD lasts twice as long.

with both you HAVE to have a safe place where you feel comfortable to trip.
if you have a bad trip you will be having a bad trip for 12 hours on acid.
shrooms is fun. i have never done acid because of a fear of having a bad trip.
