Question: Is this accutane dosage too high?
i just started accutane. im taking 80mg a day, for 5 months. i weight 160. is this too high of a dose for me? should i reduce to 60 next month? thx

So the dosing is 0.5-1.0 mg/kg/day divided into two doses a day. This would put you at about 72ish mg a day (however since the tabs come in 10, 20, 40 it's appropriate to go to 80). The max dosage can go up to 2 mg/kg/day which in your case is all the way up to 144 mg a day. 80 mg is a safe dosage for you to be taking according to the dosing procedures. If you are having unpleasant side effects however, be sure to let your physician know. Be well.
