What are the benefits of water therapy?!

Question: What are the benefits of water therapy?
Answers:

Water Therapy

One simple cleansing method for both body and mind

Water therapy is a simple method to cleanse both the body and mind from toxins. Doing water therapy one gets more benefits than one can imagine. At the physical level, various diseases are healed and at the mind level many negative habits just fade away.

The simple method that we are going to tell you will also cleanse your mind not physically but through intellect. Like the body the mind is also affected by internal as well as external toxins. The internal toxins in the mind arise through thoughts of every day actions and external toxins come from outside as stimuli from the environment. It is amazing how a simple method will cleanse both mind and body.

What is Water Therapy?

Drinking 1.5 liters of water daily first thing in the morning is water therapy. 1.5 liters is equal to 3.3 pints or 0.4 gallons of water or six and a half measuring cups (not tea-cups) of water. (Details in the next few pages).

"Usha Kaala Chikitsa" is the Sanskrit coinage for water therapy. According to this ancient system, 1.5 liters of water should be drunk without even brushing the teeth. It is very essential to note that no drinks (like tea, coffee, and milk) or any form of solid food should be taken within half an hour to one hour before and after drinking 1.5 liters of water. Using any form of alcoholic drink the previous night is strictly prohibited.

When should I brush my teeth while doing water therapy ?

The previous night before going to bed, if you clean your teeth and gums (gums with hand) and next morning if your mouth is not smelling bad then you may rinse your mouth with water and gently brush with your hands and do water therapy almost immediately.

If your mouth has a foul smell and if you are not comfortable with the above approach, brush your teeth and then do water therapy after 5 minutes.

Should it be drunk all at once? Why not split the water and drink throughout the day?

To clean the body one has to take a shower. One cannot keep pouring little water throughout the day to clean the body. Similarly one cannot argue that water can do its cleaning action by drinking several cups of water throughout the day. To clean you have to shower the internal body with 1.5 liters of water in the morning. Drinking water throughout the day is for thirst. Water therapy is not for thirst but for flushing all the toxins out of body and to regain good health.

Should I measure and drink water?

The stomach is a muscular sac that can hold about 1.5 liters (1.6 quarts) of fluid. The stomach can expand to hold up to 4 L (4.2 qts.) of food, more than 50 times its empty volume.

Dr Brian King of the UCL Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology says: “The mechanisms we have identified are important to the normal workings of the stomach - a hollow organ which actively relaxes to help accommodate the size of your meal. The human stomach has a ‘resting’ internal volume of 75 millilitres but, by relaxing its muscular wall, can expand to an internal volume of two litres or more - a 25-fold increase in the volume it can accept. This expansion is controlled by nerves inside the stomach wall and these nerves release molecules that stimulate the P2Y1 and P2Y11 receptor proteins embedded in muscle cells in the gut wall.

Alkaline Water Benefits

Alkaline water benefits have been in the spotlight of late as an alternative framework of looking at the causes of various diseases and ailments has captured the attention of a considerable segment of modern society.

This new framework focuses on the alkaline-acidity balance in human bodies as the primary factor that determines the proneness of individuals to sickness and diseases.

The Acidity-Alkalinity Balance

The main measure of acidity and alkalinity in the body is the pH (or potentiality to hydrogen) system. This pH system is based on a scale from 0 to 14 where substances that fall in the range between 0 to <7 are considered acidic while those that fall between 7< to 14 are considered alkaline. 7 is considered neutral. This scale basically determines the concentration of the hydrogen ion.

The ideal environment in the human body is normally pegged at a slightly alkaline state of 7.4. Research conducted in many parts of the world has consistently shown that if the body pH falls below this rate, it becomes more prone to ailments and diseases as the substances and organisms that cause them have largely been shown to flourish in slightly to highly acidic conditions.

Water in the pH scale

Though fresh water looks, tastes and feels the same anywhere, it does not have a uniform rating in the pH scale. Here is a quick rundown of different types of water:

Tap Water - NEUTRAL
The tap water coming out of faucets in homes, offices and other buildings is largely considered neutral in the pH scale. It has been sufficiently treated according to appropriate health standards so it is relatively clean and gives the body the fluids needed for everyday functioning. However, it is not imbued with other health benefits.

Distilled Water - ACIDIC
This type of water has had most of its impurities removed through boiling and then steam condensation. However, naturally-occuring minerals like calcium, magnesium and sodium have likewise been removed and this type of water is therefore deprived of any beneficial effects to the human body.

Mineral Water - ALKALINE
This type of water usually comes from a natural well or spring and normally contains a specified amount of trace minerals such as calcium and magnesium. These natural minerals contribute to good health.

Alkaline Ionized Water - ALKALINE
This water, whether it is originally obtained as tap or mineral or purified water, has undergone a process by which its hydrogen ions have been altered and its resultant pH rating is in the 'slightly alkaline' range of between 7 and 7.4. Many claim that this type of water is the 'healthiest' type of water as its alkaline state allows it to impart various health benefits.

WHAT DOES ALKALINE WATER DO?

Alkaline water is widely acknowledged to eliminate acid wastes that come from a variety of sources - through diet high in animal fat, smoking, polluted environment, stress and other activities that give out toxins. By flushing these acidic wastes away, the body balance is restored. Hence, a body that is in the slightly alkaline state may become a formidable line of defense against various ailments.

Among the diseases and ailments that sprout from a highly acidic body environment are the following:

Allergies
Asthma
Angina
Arthritis
Back pain
Cancer
Colitis pain
Constipation
Depression
Diabetes
Fatigue
Gout
Headaches and Migraines
Heartburn
Heart Diseases
Hepatitis
Hernia
High cholesterol
Indigestion
Morning sickness
Overweight problems
Osteoporosis
Skin diseases

Drinking alkaline water is seen as restoring the proper acid-alkaline balance that enables the body to fortify the immune system and make the body more resistant to diseases.

Absolutely NONE. The "Alkaline Diet" is a meta-myth created by fraudsters to sell books. Your body DOESN'T HAVE a single pH value. Even if it did, you wouldn't alter it by drinking water.

Your *blood* has a pH, and it's always at 7.4 (+/- 0.05). Every cancer victim in the history of mankind has died with a blood pH of ~7.4 (alkaline). The stuff you eat doesn't affect your blood pH at all.

(By the way, the "p" in pH DOESN'T stand for "potentiality", rather "negative logarithm thereof".)

It will keep you hydrated - thats about it. Otherwise it's totally bogus. Ignore the disgusting scammer above - you can't change your body pH.
