Most of what has been said already is true, HOWEVER...it is not a gateway drug. That theory has no credibility whatsoever. I also saw someone stating it can cause breast growth in males. That's odd, cause I've never met a male hippie from the 60's who had big boobs. Yes, the smoke you inhale from joints can lead to some lung problems if you do that a lot, but be aware that's from inhaling smoke, not from anything in the marijuana itself. If someone smokes from a bong or vapourizer, these lung issues are eliminated. It also does not kill brain cells; that was a faulty study done in the 70's where monkeys were suffocated, and the resulting brain damage attributed falsely to marijuana.

When it enters your body it give you a bubbly feeling of peace lol!
No idea how to describe the feeling. Its simply indescribable.
No its not a gateway drug. No I've never seen anyone go crazy off it- that's like the last thing that could happen.
On marijuana there are millions of small crystals that are called THC which is what makes you feel "High". THC sticks to fat cells, so if you are super super skinny with little fat you will feel less high. Also if you are heavier, the THC will stay in your body much longer after the 'high' wears off. So if you have to get a drug test for work or something, it takes about two months after you have used marijuana for the THC to not show up on a test.

Personal experience

Marijuana is known to produce euphoria and other changes in consciousness

Cannabis is a genus of plants comprising three species: Cannabis sativa L., Cannabis indica Lam., and Cannabis ruderalis Janisch. Marijuana, hashish, and hashish oil can be derived from any of the three. The drug’s effect varies depending on the species and individual strain used in its manufacture.

The psychoactive ingredients of marijuana are called cannabinoids. Indica-dominant strains tend to be higher in cannabidiol (CBD), while sativa-dominant strains contain more delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is said to make the user feel euphoric and “high.” CBD causes drowsiness, tiredness, and a sensation of withdrawal. Individuals who use marijuana recreationally are most interested in THC. Those who use it medicinally may value CBD for its analgesic and sedative effect.

Marijuana contains numerous cannabinoids in addition to THC and CBD. The amount and intensity of each varies from plant to plant, and they interact in complex ways which are not yet fully understood. This cannabinoid cocktail has different effects on different users. Sensations may include:

?euphoria
?relaxation
?anxiety or panic
?a distorted sense of time
?difficulty with thinking and problem solving
?diminished physical coordination
?heightened enjoyment of food (“the munchies”)
?heightened sensory awareness
?depression

How Do Cannabinoids Work?
The human body contains a natural cannabinoid called anandamide. Anandamide is a neurotransmitter (that is, a chemical that allows brain cells to communicate with each other.) Neurons have specialized receiving-stations for anandamide, known as CB1 receptors. They are analogous to locks into which anandamide fits like a key.

When a person smokes marijuana, THC and CBD “hijack” the brain’s CB1 receptors. The drug’s cannabinoids mimic anandamide, slipping into its neural locks. They alter the communications among neurons, creating effects that the user perceives as a “high.”

Efforts have been made to establish correspondences between those brain areas with lots of CB1 receptors, and the specific effects experienced by marijuana users. This has not always been successful. Receptors are dense in the frontal cortex, which may explain why THC impairs functions like short-term memory, learning, and the ability to plan. There are also lots of receptors in the hippocampus (memory), cerebellum (physical coordination), and basal ganglia (balance and reaction time.)

On the other hand, well-known effects like laughter have not been associated with receptors in any particular part of the brain. The neural workings of THC and CBD are still far from fully understood.

Researchers are still debating the potential effects of chronic marijuana use. It is clear that different individuals experience different results, depending on their physiology and the particular combination of cannabinoids they absorb. Studies suggest that the brain develops a tolerance to THC over time by limiting the number of CB1 receptors available to it. This “pruning” may have on effect on the brain’s ability to bind to anandamide, the natural cannabinoid necessary for regulating neural communications.

Beyond the effects of cannabinoids, marijuana smokers are susceptible to some of the same health problems as tobacco smokers, including bronchitis and asthma. Chronic marijuana use is associated with Amotivational Syndrome: a cluster of ongoing psychological symptoms including impaired judgment, memory, and concentration; emotional apathy; and diminished interest in the pursuit of goals

It can make you notice small perceptual details that you didn't before -- colors get more vivid, that sort of thing. It can also create mild euphoria and a sense of silliness, as well as a mistaken impression of beauty or artistic or philosophical significance. And it can cause the "munchines" -- a powerful desire to eat. Some 15% of marijuana users find it addictive. It can interfere with your memory and motivation. It can make your heart pound. Sometimes it can make you paranoid or make you hallucinate. It is also a powerful gateway drug and reduces reaction time, hence is hazardous to use while driving. Studies show that marijuana can have side effects such as gynecomastia, breast growth in males.

There is no word to describe it. First of all it is not a gateway drug at all Jenna that is pure bullshit and it doesnt make you hallucinate and second highdeas f*cking rocks! But you feel good, no worries, hungriness, euphoria, you notice the small things and appreciate it, but even the stoniest stoner cant sum high up in words, you really have to try it to know, and its not addictive.

It's called dope for a reason.

It slows your critical ability of thinking mostly. Makes some people hungry, others sleepy.

Me? It just makes me want to play Mario Kart and sit on the couch.

not much, some times you get a body high and your whole body feels funny but other than that you might get light headed, and usually you think damn near everything is funny
