Does Cinnamon cure a UTI?!

Question: Does Cinnamon cure a UTI?
Does eating cinnamon sticks really get rid of a UTI?

I think I might be getting one. Two days ago I felt terrible and my urine smelled bad. Then yesterday I thought there was a small amount of blood in my urine in my blood and I had to use the bathroom a lot. No pain whatsoever. But I ate 3 cinnamon sticks last night and it seems like it got a lot better.... I don't even know if I really have one how can I tell? Is it possible the cinnamon is making it go away? Last time I had one I just about spent my days in pain and always near a bathroom.

Answers:

Cinnamon has indeed antiseptic properties mainly due to cinamomic acid and cinnamomhaldeyde, but in order to treat an UTI, you have to literally stick it up your urethra, so i take it that it didn't heal your UTI... other than that, cinnamon should not be consumed in this quantity, because it contains possible carcinogens (eg coumarins)...

Cinnamon indeed has a lot of health benefits but I don't think UTI is one of them. But it may have affected other areas that may have indirectly caused relief from UTI. Best to see your doctor.

Not really. The usual treatment is cranberry extract capsules. One 400 mg capsule is equal to 16 glasses of cranberry juice (unsweetened).

No, she caused it
