Anyone with personal experience or info about night blindness or nyctalopia?!

Question: Anyone with personal experience or info about night blindness or nyctalopia?
I'm an aspiring wiriter and one of my 30 year old, male characters has this condition.

Just wondering if anyone has nyctalopia, and what it is like.
At what light do you start to lose your vision and do you experience any other visual problems during the day? Do you go completely blind in some low-ligjht situations? How does it affect your life?

Thankyou for all your help.

Any other information or 3rd person experiences appreciated. :)

Hello. I have it, and i can't drive after it gets dark, because i can't see well enough. Most people do not go completely blind at night. You just can't see well enough to function. My vision is ok during the day, but when it gets dark, i can't see good at all. Like if i were to drive at night, i can't see the lines in the road, where the road curves, or ends, can't read any signs, and the only thing i do see, is headlights of other cars ( which really blinds me ), and the traffic lights ( but they are really blurry ). So i just stopped driving after dark because i don't trust myself anymore. That's really the only way it has affected my life so far.
