Alternative antipsychotic? please help.?!

Question: Alternative antipsychotic? please help.?
I have been taking seroquel xl (quetiapine) for about 14 months now. I was taking 100mg a day.
My boyfriend and I decided we'd like to start trying for a baby in half a year or so, so immediately I cut my dosage in half (with drs consent) with the intention of coming off my medication completely as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, I suffered terribly with withdrawal symptoms and my old symptoms returned so a dr put my dosage up to 75mg.
I still want to have a baby, i'm well and happy when I take my medication and i've come to terms with taking it for the rest of my life if that's how I remain stable, but how can I keep my baby safe whilst taking appropriate meds? Is there anything I can take whilst pregnant and breastfeeding?
My drs aren't telling me anything.
Thanks in advance, your answer means a lot to me

I suspect that the reason why the Dr's have been mum is because there is no way to predict those things...I have no clue on the topic either I'm afraid.

In the meantime, somethings you want to consider - what safe guards do you have in place to help you deal with the condition which required the medication in the first place? Look back upon 'the trouble' you have gotten into, how can you prepare to minimize those or similar situations. Think of little things. Do you have ICE (in case of emergency) numbers programmed into your phone? Do you have limits placed on your debit cards? Can you afford to lose a job if you have a psychotic break and tell off a co-worker? Has your family been informed of your decision? Etc, etc. Considering that you and your life (as you live it) are going to be vulnerable so to speak, do the best that you can to defend those vulnerabilities.

One of the side effects of Seroquel is an inability of your body to fight off infections. This is even more dangerous if you are pregnant, as certain infections may be fatal to a fetus. The FDA found that Seroquel causes low birth weight and even miscarriages in pregnant animals.
