I have some questions about suppositories? new user of them.?!

Question: I have some questions about suppositories? new user of them.?
i sometimes get these headaches that make me throw up and a few times i have thrown up the oral meds that i have taken, because of being nauseous. so i decided to talk with a pharmacist about what kind of meds i should take for my headaches. and the pharmacist said that since i have thrown up my meds a few times because of the nausea associated with my headaches, they recommended that i take a acetaminophen suppository each time i get a headache so that way i can get the meds in me with throwing up.

but the thing is i am not sure on how to use a suppository, i will be new to using them and had a question about using them.

if u could tell me how ti use them and how long to lay still after wards that would be great. thanks in advacne for ur help.

I didn't suffer from headaches, but I had another health problem that I had to administer suppositories to treat. To make it easier and work properly I found the following information useful.
1. Keep the suppositories in the fridge as this keeps them firm and it is easier to insert something firm than something that could start melting in your fingers before you successfully get it into place. It is incredible how fast the heat of your hands and the warmth from between your buttocks can soften the suppository and make it impossible to use
2. Keep your fingernails very short and smooth or it will hurt when you push the tip of your finger into your butt to get the suppository up high enough for it not to just shoot out the moment you stop pushing it in.
3. Lay on your stomach long enough until you feel the suppository start to melt (which is easy to notice if you had it cold when inserted (you feel it warm up and feel like there is less of a lump up your butt)
4. Balance the unwrapped suppository between your thumb, index and middle fingers near its base
and get the tip of the suppository lined up pressing against your anus, then slide the tip of your middle finger (which is the longest) directly on the end of the suppository and push it past the tightness of the muscles at the opening of the anus and as far up as you can take your finger going.
This won't be all that far because your fingers are joined to your hand and you can't get your own hand very far between your own buttocks as you have to do this all with your arm twisted behind your back and not being able to see what you are doing.
5. It's almost impossible to do, but try and relax as much as possible when about to push the suppository up with the middle finger. I found leaning over the edge of the bed with the leg of the same side as the hand I was going to use, kneeling on top of the bed (right-handed means right knee on bed with body leaning forward and balancing on left arm with suppository held between right-hand fingers with left foot still on floor). Then lay on belly to rest, relax and let suppository melt into place.
6. Expect some of the medicine to leak out of your butt if you stand or sit up too soon.

It's pretty straightforward. Take off the wrapper, and use some water-soluble lube on the tip to make it more comfortable. It's up to you whether you want to use latex gloves to insert it or just wash your hands afterward. You don't have to lie still at all afterward unless it feels uncomfortable to you to move around.

You have been asking this question all week. You shove them up your butt, as everyone has said. Get over it.
