Yes, If you haven't smoked cannabis before, then they will most likely notice it. But after some weeks or month where you maybe smoke 3-4 times a month (like me). Then you are able to control it more, and you will be more experienced. But you will have red eyes. But it is different from person to person ( i have VERY red eyes).
And cannabis isn't a gateway drug... It has never been proven and it never will be. It's like saying that milk is a gateway "drug" to alcohol.
FYI alcohol and cigarettes are worse than cannabis. And you should try to quit the smokes. :-)

When you get high it is sometimes noticeable. However, you should be more worried about weed being a gateway drug. Flash forward about 10 years and you're giving bj's in an alley way for a crack rock...... It's a bad scene.

Some tell-tale signs are red eyes, being very hungry or going right to bed when you get home. If you don't show any of those signs, they shouldn't notice.
