Can my son take CALPROFEN & PARACETAMOL?!

Question: Can my son take CALPROFEN & PARACETAMOL?
My son has chicken pox and toothache

He has childrens paracetamol
I phoned nhs, they said for more pain relief, get some ibuprofen to take aswell
I went to buy some and all they had was calprofen
which is labelled as "calprofen - ibuprofen"

So i think they can be taken together as one is ibuprofen and one is paracetamol?

Calprofen only contains ibuprofen, it is a brand name which I have to say does sometimes cause confusion, Paracetamol can be taken together, but it is often a good idea to stagger the doses, ie use paracetamol and then 2-3 hours later give the ibuprofen.

GP for more years than I care to remember

paracetamol is the same as tylenol. you can take them together, but alternate them. every 4 hours use one, then the other 4 hours later. also use the lowest effective dose of either.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen can be taken together.

they are both paracetemal so not advisable as this would cause and overdose

just give him 1 ibupro evry six hours
