Codeine doesn't really get you high. It makes you sleepy. It's never been used much as a 'recreational' drug. I've heard people say it makes them feel 'weird' and they don't like it. Me, it just makes me sleepy.

Beware: Codeine also makes you constipated.

Yes, you might get high for a short period of time but...

You'll probably get sick to your stomach because Codeine is such a major irritant to the stomach.

You could also "blow out" your liver because both the Tylenol as well as the Codeine are metabolized through the liver and you are overdosing on both medications.

How about this: Coat your stomach with a starch (potatoes, rice, bread, or pasta). Take two aspirin. Then take the prescribed dosage of Codeine (usually one or two pills). Add to that some coffee (with lots of cream). If additional relief is necessary, take a warm bath.

I'm recommending this concoction because Excedrin - Migraine (a very strong over-the-counter pain reliever) contains Tylenol, Caffeine, and Aspirin. In essence you would be supplementing this with the narcotic. It's a much safer way to reduce or eliminate the pain. If you find that this does not work, you should discuss with your doctor the possibility of getting some muscle relaxers (Soma, Valium, or Ativan).

I hope you feel better.

I know people that have taken codiene to get high, I wouldn't recommend it. Taking too much Tylenol is bad for your liver and DO NOT drink alcohol with it!! Check out the website on it, but take it as your doctor prescribed, be careful with it!

If you take four or five, you'll probably crash and sleep for hours.

Codeine makes me fall asleep.
