I have the same fear of needles. What I do is think that I have to face my fears and overcome it. You might not want to, but you have to so you can insure your own safety.

Hi Hannah.

First of all let me say that you are certainly not alone having phobias like this. Secondly, I would like to say that there is a very, very high probability that you can completely eliminate this problem safely, inexpensively and permanently within a reasonably short period of time.

I have taught a natural system of medicine called homeopathy for about 30 years. I have seen many, many people with fears of all kinds (among other things) and I can tell you conclusively that NOT being able to cure a problem like yours (quickly, gently, permanently and inexpensively) is the EXCEPTION to the rule.

The question is which remedy do you need? With homeopathy, each case is individualized. The remedy that cures your phobia may not be the one that cures another person's phobia. When the remedy is matched correctly, you will also see fringe benefits hat help a lot of other problems you weren't even complaining about.

So rather than guessing a particular remedy off the top of my head, I suggest you check out The National Center For Homeopathy for a thorough overview and recommendations for finding a qualified homeopath in your area. http://www.homeopathic.org/

You have to associate something good with them, simple phscology.
You probably got this phobia because you associated something bad with them - easily done..
Phobias are just your mind playing games and they can be cured yoursef with determination and willpower.

I could suggest first of all getting a picture of one up on google and then listening to your favourite song while you look at the picture to start teaching yourself not to fear them and to make your brain subconciously associate them with good things.

After this step, you could take it further and ook at it for longer, or eat your favourite food while looking at it, to associate even more with the needle being ok.

Eventually your phobia will end if you keep doing this, hope i helped x

I presume you are a girl ? men think differently - and logically.

An injection lasts seconds, it doesnt really hurt compared to a broken leg or arm.
If you THINK you have a phobia then you have, its all in your own mind, you weakness your strength, your destination.
When you or other people panic over such things, you need to understand reality and real life and what is happening in the real cruel world, this is a small few seconds of your life, you havent got cancer that breaks your heart and your family
If you were severely diabetic you inject insulin daily and think nothing of it after a short while.
Try to see the whole picture not just your insecurity.
When you were little somthing obviously happened to make you scared, you have to understand that, and rise above it, we have all been scared of needles, I was now at 54 I dont care how many needles I have. people are trying to help me.

The conventional psychologic approach is cognitive therapy. You can do EFT/emotional freedom technique on yourself or see an experienced practitioner (instructions at Mercola.com and there are also youtube videos).
However if you go to the National Vaccine Information Centre website and research the adverse effects of those shots and the disputed "science" behind them, you'll be wondering why everyone doesn't have the reaction you've had and run in the opposite direction when someone mentions getting a shot.

I don't really know how to help you. Maybe try to go with a friend or family member when they are getting a shot and be right there when they get it (you not screaming) and watch either their face or something just so you know its all okay.

Or my choice because i believe if you put your mind to it you can do it. So just tell yourself that its all okay, its just a piece of metal that can help you and wont hurt you. and just say that you want to get over it and just try to have the mentallity. :) good luck.

Hi, Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuo Linguistic Programming), Fast Phobia, are great for this and can help address the anxiety/stress factor as well. I have seen this working firsthand on many occassions. See a qualified and experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner.
You'll never look back,

What is the worst thing that could happen? Visualise what this may be in your head and imagine yourself coping with it. Then it will not be so bad.
