NO. Stem cell research has lots of problems that are not going to be easy to resolve. Stem cells tend to revert back to their original state when used in the research that is being conducted. Ulcerative colitis is mostly caused by parasites in the colon and dysbiosis due to poor digestion and bad diet loaded with bad oils like those found in vegetable oils such as soybean, canola, cottonseed, and corn oils; fried foods; hydrogenated oils; and trans fats. These low fat diets and demonizing of saturated fats has created huge problems along with the great reduction in minerals from our foods. We have lost over 50% of the antioxidants in the last 25 years from our food supply. All this is having a toll on the human body. Over 53% of ALL Americans are now chronically ill and that is only the recorded percentage done by the CDC report in 2006.
Don't look to medicine to CURE anything. What disease has ANY drug company cured in the last 100 years of their existence? Name just one.
The only thing drug companies are interested in are the things that will give them on-going revenues. That's just good business. Why would they put themselves out of business curing things? The manage diseases and treat symptoms, nothing more.
The answers to colitis is already here. The body knows how to make itself healthy, but continuous abuse and medical treatments that treat symptoms are NOT THE ANSWER.

No. No one has been able to cure anything via stem cell therapy. This area of medicine is to politically charged to allow it to proceed. Even if funding and ethical hurdles were negated as it has already been suggested, it would put some companies out of business.
IF stem cell therapy is to progress it would have to be done outside of the US away from the influence of FDA and pharmaceutical companies.
