Would a multivitamin make my calcium levels too high?!
Question: Would a multivitamin make my calcium levels too high?
I've recently been told that my calcium levels are too high.
I do take a multivitamin daily because I know that I do not get enough calcium.
I don't drink milk, and I eat cheese but not enough to give me enough calcium,
so I'm wondering if my multivitamin which adds up to be about 90% of my daily calcium would make my calcium levels high enough to cause my doctor to worry?

Wow, what multi-vitamin are you taking that contains 90% of your daily calcium? Most of them contain 2-10%
Anyhow, high blood calcium is usually due to parathyroid function, family history of high calcium, kidney function, etc, etc (there is literally a laundry list of causes)
You (usually) would have to take more calcium than that for it to be due to supplements - but cutting back on the supplement might not be a bad idea. When you see the doctor next, ask him.
