anti-depressants, you need a prescription for them

Being depressed has nothing to do with being immature or needing to grow up. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and that is something that we have no control over. You should talk to your doctor about the way you're feeling. Sometimes a change in diet and exercise can do wonders with depression, and pills aren't needed. Only a doctor can determine that.

Personal experience

I'm probably going to get rated down for this... I really don't care.

I don't know if you mean like a recreational drug or something like that. Other than antidepressants I don't think there is a pill that can take away your emotions. You're fifteen. It sucks. I know. Been there, done that, would never do it again. To be cliche, it shapes who you will be. You're hormonal and finding who you are. It's seriously a rough time. Your body hasn't full developed yet so you don't need antidepressants.

I do, however, believe in them. If later in life you still feel this way then give them a shot. Try therapy first or finding a hobby you're really good at. This is alternative medicine so people are going to tell you that anything that isn't alternative won't work and that anything considering mainstream medicine is terrible for you. I was on antidepressants for years. They helped me tremendously. I was severely depressed.

It'll be alright :)

Some are called anti-depressants. You need a prescription from the doctor. I don't believe in them. Yes I do think there are some cases of severe depression however the test is an oral one. Not one where the can see it to find it. I think depression is over rated. An excuse to make money and a way to keep people under control. The real fact of it is that humans are not meant to work and serve in an institutionalized system. As they say moderation in all things. I do believe that includes work, employment, schools, etc... Sometimes depression, rage or temper tantrums are caused by environment among many other things such as mental illness.

Not really, but as previously mentioned, many psych drugs like thorazine blunt emotions temporarily. You just...don't care. Others simply make you feel BAD.

Snake root/reseperine works similarly, but that can be dangerous, especially if you have low blood pressure or are depression prone.

At 15, you're supposed to be feeling all sorts of obnoxious, possibly horrible feelings. That's biology. Trying to force it otherwise will result in severe mental illness later in life...and not that much later.

These people clearly don't know what they're talking about.

Depression is a REAL condition. These people have obviously never suffered from it..

Anyway.. I think you're talking about antidepressants.. And you can just talk to your parents about it and they'll take you to a doctor and the doctor will give you a prescription for them if he/she thinks you need them..

Doctors will prescribe anti-depressants if you're in North America, that is what big pharma has them trained to do.

In other parts of the world they will try natural cures first, which are far better for the delicate brain. Consider looking into St. Johns Wort and/or L-Tryptophan.

SSRI's and other antidepressants should be a LAST RESORT.

they are called antidepressants!

grow up and learn to deal with your emotions, when you are older you will realise that 15 was a great age with not much stress and a lot of fun times. mae sure you cherish it!

Try counseling.
This is an alternative medicine forum, taking pills is not an alternative form of medicine! Unfortunately, it is the norm. Good luck

There's no such thing.
Antidepressants do not remove emotions and have terrible negative/toxic side effects. They have also been proven not to be effective.

ANTIDEPRESSANTS DO NOT TAKE AWAY EMOTIONS. People really don't know what they are talking about.
