can I take sivastatina efg20mg instead of FibrazateXL 400mg?!
Question: Can I take sivastatina efg20mg instead of FibrazateXL 400mg?
Answers:
Fibrates are very rarely used in the UK except for patients with certain rare inherited hyperlipidaemias, or sometimes for patients who do not tolerate statins. They have more side effects, are much less effective at lowering cholesterol and do not have nearly the positive effects on both mortality and morbidity gained whilst on statins. I would need to know why specifically they were used on you before giving any sort of reliable answer. Generally stains are vastly superior to fibrates.
