Your tuition check has to clear at the internet diploma-mill. You need to lack the scientific knowledge to understand that chiropractic is nonsense that doesn't work. Finally, you need to have no morals so that you can continue to take people's money without helping them even though you say otherwise.

1 You need to ask yourself why you want to be a chiropractor. A chiropractor is more than a " bone cracker"

-A chiropractor gives people the option of not using invasive techniques and medication to treat disease and neuromusculoskeletal conditions. As a future chiropractor myself I will readily encourage people that in most cases a healthy lifestyle can be obtained naturally, however if necessary I will collaborate with other medical professionals. "Health care" is generally a croc, it focuses in on a single issue and instantly turns to drugs for treatment.

-As a chiropractor you need to look at the body as a whole, and understand that the body systems are all connected. I hate the wrap people give chiropractors sometime. It's these people who think the fix is in a pill, and don't take their health seriously.

-So you want to be a "life coach" essentially in addition to your individual chiropractic technique.

-Unfortunately there are some chiropractors out their that are not in it for the right reason and make some absurd claims.

#2 This is the route I would suggest.
Get your bachelors degree in Health Allied Sciences, and go beyond the recommended pre-req. courses. I also got certified as a personal trainer ACSM, I love fitness and its effects.

-Here are some essential classes I took, that I feel gave me a great understanding in the Health Field.

-Concepts in Biology 1/2 with Labs
-Anatomy and Physiology 1/2 with Labs
-Cell Biology with Lab
-Human Genetics
-Nutrition
-Exercise Science General
-Microbiology with Lab
-Inorganic Chemistry 1/2 with Labs
-Organic Chemistry with Lab
-Biochemistry with Lab
-Molecular Biology with Labs
-Biochemistry
-Human Physiology and Integrated Physiology Lab
-Histology

-Now these classes greatly enhanced and built upon the previously listed classes:
These classes greatly keep your mind open and really get you to think.

-Comparative Anatomy and Morphology in Vertebrates(Extensive study in developmental and functional anatomy in vertebrates including their origin)
-Functional and Eco-morphology Anatomy Seminar (Read research articles and presented powerpoints)
-Biology Seminar (Just another class that gets you up in front of a group to present a topic in your field of study)

A Chiropractor has an extensive curriculum just as any Medical Doctor, and it is not easy, especially if you are in it for the wrong reasons.

Best Wishes!

Before anyone thinks about becoming a chiropractor now, they should become aware of exactly what they are getting themselves into. First chiropractic is in a downward spiral. Only about 5-7% of the US population is utilizing chiropractic and it will probably get worse. The field is flooded with chiropractors. Insurance carriers are paying less for treatments, which means the competition is greater. Chiropractic school is extremely expensive.Unless you have rich parents, you will graduate with a student loan of over $100,000. With that amount of loan,no bank will loan you money to open your own practice,so you will be forced to work as an associate for a established chiropractor(average salary $30,000). You have the same respect as a used car salesman,NOT a real doctor. A large percentage of chiropractic grads are not in practice just 5 years after graduation,BUT still owe their student loans. take the prerequisite courses, go to college, get a diploma, a license, then learn how to take care of people. i recommend reading the books of dr.b.j. palmer (the green books). the sooner you become grounded in true chiropractic philosophy and become familiar with the means to employ it (palmer upper cervical specific hio method), the better. stay away from colleges that teach physical therapy yet call it chiropractic. you will need to do a little background study of chiropractic history to be able to distinguish the real thing from the commonplace imitations.

You will need to complete four years of college and take and get strong grades in the following classes: biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, English, psychology, etc. To determine the exact classes you need to qualify for admission, you should contact the Admissions office of any Chiropractic College you are considering.

Here is a link to the admissions webpage of my alma mater - The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic at the Southern California University of Health Sciences.
