Does Homeopathy work?!

Question: Does Homeopathy work?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/articl…

This is the proper url for this article since some dope overwrote my question.
The naysayers are pretty desperate to disparage the research that's been done and published in response to negative press in the past year.
In conjuntion with recent work done by the Indian Institute of Technology there's little point in disputing the fact any longer.

Answers:

Does homeopathy work? It doesn't just work, it works beautifully. This is my experience of many years in being treated for chronic and acute illnesses, injuries to skin and nerves and the pain and swelling of dental work. This is the experience of 1/2 billion homeopathic patients around the world today and 1/2 million practitioners, most of whom are M.D.'s Homeopathy is safe, efficacious and inexpensive so its use grows every year.

There are literally 100's of studies proving it works to significant and sometimes substantial benefit and without causing side effects or iatrogenic diseases.

Anyone wanting to see some of those studies will find them at the web site for the National Center for Homeopathy (look under "articles" and "research").

Also, it's great for animals. I always have remedies on hand for the things lay people can treat like infections, boils and itchy flea bites.

Your claim that "the balance of scientific research is actually positive" is just plain wrong. There have been hundreds of trials into homeopathy and not just trials by homeopaths like David Reilly. The totality of evidence available to us demonstrates that homeopathy works no better than placebo in placebo responsive conditions.

The problem with Reilly's research is that it has yet to be replicated by any team who, unlike David Reilly, doesn't earn a living from homeopathy or have a vested interest in pretending it's anything more than the pre-science cult therapy that it is.

Here's some further reading:

But that article is not a research article. It is merely a journalist reporting what "Dr David Reilly of the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital" tells her. The journalist doesn't tell us where Reilly published his study, and it is nowhere to be found where other researchers publish their studies. No matter how open minded we are, the article tells us nothing of the validity of their findings.

To know what the balance of scientific research is, you have to do a systematic review taking into account the quality of the studies (positives as well as negatives) . When people do that they find that the balance is actually negative.

Homeopathy (homoeopathy) is a form of alternative medicine, that attempts to treat patients with heavily diluted preparations. Homeopathy's efficacy is unsupported by the collective weight of modern scientific research. The extreme dilutions used in homeopathic preparations usually leave none of the original material in the final product.

Facts:

1) Depending on the dilution, homeopathic remedies may not contain any pharmacologically active molecules, and for such remedies to have pharmacological effect would violate fundamental principles of science.
2) Modern homeopaths have proposed that water has a memory that allows homeopathic preparations to work without any of the original substance; however, there are no verified observations nor scientifically plausible physical mechanisms for such a phenomenon.

Homeopathy is SAFE.. Why?
As homeopathic remedies usually contain only water and/or alcohol, they are generally safe to use

No. There has been many cases in courts of people (Kids mostly) dying form such treatments. Stick with conventional medicine and SCIENTIFICALLY PROVED and accepted alternative herbal medicine.

EDIT: Quoting one biased source is not gonna help anyone. I am not opposed to homeopathy based on prejudice, I am opposed to it because I saw many patients with my own eyes suffering from its consequences (Ranging from mild skin burns to death). There maybe some countries that regulated the process and monitored it, and in that case I am not opposed to using alternative medicine as long as there are scientific data to support that it really is effective and harmful, otherwise I am vehemently against it.

It works and that too miraculously. It is the only science and art which has a law of cure i.e "Similia Similibus Curentur" i.e "Likes are cured by likes". There is tremendous literature on that which is very enlightening. Homoeopathy and only Homoeopathy cures rapidly, gently and permanently.

No. its a scam.

Legendary skeptic James Randi takes a fatal dose of homeopathic sleeping pills onstage, kicking off a searing 18-minute indictment of irrational beliefs.

it is a matter of faith
like placebo effect

It's a scam... like Jesus.

Logical Reasoning

It may or may not work if you have faith in it. If you are skeptical about it, don't try it.
