Besides vitamin B12 or a vitamin B complex Coenzyme Q10 is also supposed to boost your energy level.

Perhaps you need more energy enzymes from more fruit and vegetables.

The following link include a list of remedies that have been used for energy/fatigue. A lot of these, such as betel nut, bitter orange and kola nut are central nervous system stimulants. Those would probably be used more for short-term energy boosts like coffee would be. There are several other natural sources of caffeine besides coffee. Yerba mate is one, and many drinkers of yerba mate tea find that it is milder and less jittery than coffee. There are also things such as hemp seed and bee pollen that seem to work more to fuel the body than simply speed up the CNS. B vitamins are also associated with energy. You will notice that energy drinks tend to be loaded with them.

Get your B vitamin levels tested and get a comprehensive thyroid test as well, making sure it includes both T3 and T4 levels.

A B complex is always a great idea to include as most multi-vitamins only contain 10mcg of most B's, and if your energy levels are a result of poor thyroid activity consider an iodine/tyrosine supplement for 30 days before taking medications.

If you're already on medications, ask your doctor whether there is any reason you shouldn't take either a B complex or Iodine/Tyrosine.

geez lisa early 40's is still pretty young mate..... try the easy stuff first... ditch eating any processed sugary type snacks and fill up on fresh low sugar fruits and fresh vegies like celery and carrots when you want to snack ...... sugar trashes your b complex of vitamins and that will lead to fatigue and exhaustion.....ditch any sodas, pop alcohol or caffeine too ..... all will dehydrate you terribly and dehydration can totally exhaust you ...... drink more water ..... juice green vegies like celery and add a juiced peeled lemon or apple for flavor .... brilliant energy booster right there... rich in calcium, potassium, vitamin c, fibre and water ..... boosts your energy and boosts your ImmUNity too .... i drink fresh celery juice with lime or lemon daily and haven't had a cold in 10 years.... and i'm on my feet in a coffee shop 40 hours a week running serving coffee and making food ..... and i'm full of beans mate.

There are many things. Direct sympathomimetics are ephedra/ma huang, arecoline (betel nut), caffeine (coffee, yaupon, yerba mate, tea), kola nut, and yohimbine.

Other things that work on dopamine can have very energizing effects without the 'jitters' that the above can cause, like Velvetbean (Mucuna pruriens) and Monk's pepper (Vitex agnus-castus).

Kanna is traditionally used by certain peoples in southern Africa as stimulant and mild appetite suppressant. It actually works on serotonin, so you cannot use this if you're on an SSRI. Look for Sceletium tortuosum.

there are countless supplements for energy, natural and other wise. just go to your local nutrition shop and they will help you find exactly what you need. otherwise caffeine is always nice

Start taking more exercise, the more you do the higher your energy levels become

Gingko relieves fatigue for many ppl. However, it has properties that may speed up your heart rate, so be careful!
