Is the E-Cig better or as good as a normal cigarrette?!

Question: Is the E-Cig better or as good as a normal cigarrette?
My uncle is a heavy smoker, and is 54 years old. He's trying so hard to quit, but can't. He's an awesome guy, and i don't like to watch him suffer with coughing fits etc. He's had two heart attacks, and i heard a smoke will never survive the third. So I considered buying him the E-Cig. Is this as good as a cigarette? Is it safer? and if its a good choice how much does it cost, because im only 15, so don't gave much money. Thanks

You probably can't buy it, since you're under 18.

Chances are, if he wants to quit, it will be helpful. As far as actually providing the nicotine, it really works as well as a cigarette. I personally enjoy actually lighting the cigarette, etc., so I haven't quit smoking completely. But it really does allow me to cut down on smoking a lot.

The one I bought cost about $69 for a starter kit.

Very different from smoking cigarettes, definitely not a match and your uncle being a heavy smoker is already addicted to cigarettes. He'd probably thank you for the love and concern but that's not going to make him stop smoking or switch to e-cigs. The only way for a person to quit smoking is if he remains firm and just quit. He's already got the will power, all he needs now is discipline.

Talking from experience. I used to smoke cigarettes now I'm on cigars but at the moment, just don't want to quit.

Since you're underage, it's up to your 'uncle' to do both the legwork and the purchasing if he even wants to quit and switch to the e-cig. If he is interested in finding out more, he can go to e-cigarette-forum.com and read to his heart's content about different models and do a cost-benefit analysis of his own.

For the record, yes, it's better, cheaper, and safer IMO. I lost my smoker's cough from COPD/asthma within days of switching.

Six months using a Joye eGo after 30+ years of smoking analogs.

it's a great tool to help him quit if he is sincere about it.

if he's just saying he wants to quit cause he knows you guys wanna hear it, he'll use it a few times and forget about it.

Hi there. I would like to first commend you for not only being concerned for your loved one's health but more importantly for wanting to take an active role in contributing to improve his health. I find that this product is great in the initial excitement of experiencing a new method of nicotine consumption. It is crucial to keep in mind that there are several components that make smoking cigarettes "attractive" or rather "addictive" for the user. First the most obvious is the consumption of nicotine, which stimulates receptors in our brain to give the desired effect, and with this product you may choose the level of nicotine to consume (the point being to gradually lower the amount and effectively evade nicotine withdrawl). It is my perogative that one could do the same by simply switching to a light or otherwise ultra-light cigarette. Second would be the actual physical movement of smoking the cigarette. It is widely argued that the motion of an individuals hand and the act of inhaling becomes almost second nature (like scratching an itch) and can be directly linked to areas of the brain that are responsible for calming and/or relaxation. This is one of the benefits of using the E-Cig as compared to other smoking cessation products. Third and last is the social aspect of smoking cigarettes. If you smoke then in simple terms you belong to a kind of club. A club that meets in designated areas at designated times or sometimes even randomly, and this gives the individual who might otherwise not be social a chance to be social! Even if the individual smokes without a companion smoking still acts as a task to break up the monotony of their day. The price for the starter kit, which includes all the necessities, ranges from $50 USD to $100 USD although you may be able to find some online sites that have sales or sell at wholesale prices. For example South Beach Smoke has a promotion for 15% off if you use the code KITPROMO15. I hope you find this information valuable. I have done my best to keep it un-biased so not to skew your decision. It really would be a neat gift though and the price is equivilent to a carton of cigarettes. Happy Holidays!!! *<([ : }) >
