just so you know, he's going to grow up to have mental problems

you dick parents

Oh my, I really hope this is a troll. But if not, here is an answer to your question: YES it will mess him up. Any long term prescription drug should NEVER be stopped abruptly without doctor supervison. If you take a "break" from the meds, your son could experience any number of withdrawal symptoms, some mild and some too horrible to mention. If it's only been a week the risk is reduced but there is still a risk. Why are you asking this on the Internet and not talking to his doctor? That is my answer to your question, but I won't be able to sleep tonight unless I also ask YOU a question: Are you knowledgeable and informed on the nature of these types of drugs? Have you read anything besides the labels of the bottles or talked to anyone besides your doctor? I know you love your son and you are trying to do what's best for him. Which is why I think if you had an adequate understanding of a child's mental development and a basic awareness of how psychotropic drugs work, you might reconsider your decisions. take him to a doctor. Nobody here can can tell if he's been taking drugs from the age of three.

"Will it mess him up by doing this?"

Don't you think he's already being messed up taking chemicals at his age?

You posted your question in the Alternative Medicine category. I assume you're looking for answers that don't involve chemicals.

Okay, here's what you can do. Take the sodas and other water alternatives away from him and give him plain ordinary water and some salt. His problem is caused by dehydration.

Soft drinks, coffee and other water substitutes have sugar, caffeine and other additives that turn them into diuretics. They can pull out as much as 50% more water than they contain. This means the boy in question isn't maintaining a safe water level in his body. As a result, he suffers from health problems.

9 years old is way too young for this to happen. I can't believe he's been drugged since he was 3 years old...this absolutely blows my mind. This is legalized child abuse.

Start giving him water - lots of it. Do not give him anything else to drink other than the occasional fruit juice (no more than 8 oz per day). Make sure he gets plenty of salt.

Check out the protocol you'll find through the link below and follow it. This is intended for adults, so you'll need to tailor it for a 9-year-old's use.
