The lemons work because citrus is a great detoxifier.

Overview: 98.6° Fahrenheit is the normal body temperature. Temperatures above 100° are usually considered a fever. Fever occurs as the body senses an invasive action of some type and begins to counteract. Fever could be an indication that pathogens and viruses are being fought off. Beyond this there can be a multitude of root causes of fevers. Identifying the root cause and treating it should be a high priority. The most suggested essential oils for reducing fever or preventing it from rising to dangerous levels are peppermint, eucalyptus, and lemon.

Application: For internal use add lemon or peppermint to a spoon of honey or agave, or add to a ? cup of water. Any of the oils can be inhaled using a diffuser, inhaler or cup and inhale. The body can also be cooled with a cool compress prepared with 1-2 drops of peppermint and/or eucalyptus. Also consider preparing a cool foot bath with 1 or 2 drops of peppermint and/or eucalyptus or apply neat to the feet.

Safety Precautions: If high temperatures persist seek help in understanding the root cause with a licensed healthcare provider.
