If you never ever go out in the sun can the skin stay forever youthful with no wrinkles? Considering you're otherwise healthy.

The sun is always there even if it does not shine. Being hidden behind clouds does not mean you get no exposure, though it is less. So avoiding the sun altogether would mean never going out daytime and that brings very bad health problems ....remember the Josef Fritl poor children...anaemia and 'papery' skin were mentioned in respect of a lack of sunlight. Very sad cases.

Everything in moderation as with everything in life.
Take precautions. In summer try to avoid the mid-day sun.
UV rays increase turtuosity (i.e. contortion) of the collagen bundles. Vitamin A (tretinoin) as a night time treatment apparently reverses this. But the downside is that it makes your skin more sun sensitive so if you don't cover up with sunscreen or a hat any benefit might be reversed or worse.

You can perhaps allow your arms to get the most sun for vitamin D production, protecting your face more.

Wrinkles is about much more than skin acturally. Wrinkles are more than skin deep. Do some research on lipoatrophy. Subcutaneous (below the skin) fat loss might be more of a factor in wrinkle production than what is happening at skin level.

Genes can play a major role in the tendency of skin to wrinkle or not. Genetics is a complicated affair really. Do some research on progeria.....the childhood 'old age' disease.

No. Sunlight speeds up the aging process in our skin but as we age, our skin loses elasticity and collagen and lines/age spots will still likely develop. The damage will not be as severe on someone who rarely goes into the sun's path as someone who worships the sun. Your body does NOT need the sunlight to be healthy. The sun's rays stimulate your body to produce vitamin D and the main purpose of Vitamin D is to enable your body to absorb Calcium which is essential for strong bones. So, if you don't get much sunlight, then just take vitamin D supplements and you'll be good to go.



No. I agree, you need sunlight to stay healthy. Also, as we age, the cells in our bodies don't divide as fast as when we are younger, and so the elasticity of our skin is compromised. We age. We get wrinkles. I don't think there is anything to do to avoid it altogether.


Taking a vitamin D supplement won't fix it though. There are many different kind of vitamin D, and supplements only have one, usually. There is a whole host of other good things sunlight does for us that we really don't understand. It helps to purify and uplift us. I wouldn't say you should go sunbathe for hours and hours every day though. Moderation is good, but sunlight is also good.



80% of the lines and wrinkles are caused by the sun. The other 20% is from smiling, pouting and frowning. The sun is the main source of vitamin D, essential for good health, so if you never go out in the sun you should take vitamin D supplements.

Like everything else in Life.. It's all about moderation... Sunlight is necessary for good health however when people get into "tanning contests" that is where the problems begin from accelerated aging to melanoma (malignant skin cancer).. MODERATION

vitamin d the sunshine vitamin ..... you won't get much of it if you are never exposed to sunlight... so you'll end up massively stressed and depressed which will produce rapid aging.... wrinkles.
