Aside from coffee and other caffeine drinks, what are some effective ways to sta!

Question: Aside from coffee and other caffeine drinks, what are some effective ways to stay awake?
My dad told me that coffee and caffeine is poisonous and causes high blood pressure, so now I'm staying away from them for good.

Energy drinks contain high amounts of sugar. Staying away from them also.

Loud music doesn't work for me either. I can sleep through loud music and have done so several times. Plus, roommates will get mad.

Taking a shower makes me relaxed, which just makes it more conducive to sleep.

Cutting myself and putting lemon juice over my wound.. well, too painful, and I feel weird harming myself.

Any help?

In massage school we learned 2 little maneuvers to help keep the body stimulated and awakened (such as when you're sitting in class and your eyes are getting heavy) and that is...
1) pinch your earlobes with your fingernails for about a minute all around
2) using one hand, tap all around your upper breastbone with your fingertips for the count of 25 making sure it is a pretty firm tap and not too light.

As far as what you can eat/drink..... I bought a wholefood organic supplement powder that I mix in either freshly juiced veggies/fruit mix or a green smoothie that I mix that in, in the morning. Surprisingly, it springs me into the day! I cannot drink caffeinated beverages so this works like a charm. They are not cheap, but well worth the nutrients and get you going great.

Examples of these wholefood supplement powders (that you can order online or at a healthfood store are:
Super Green Food Powder, Vitamineral Green, MacaForce (oh and btw, anything with Maca in it is very stimulating -- it's natural and potent! Not only will it boost energy, it balances your hormones.).....
I'd stick with plant-based powders and not whey products --- better for you with so much more nutrients!

I agree with Treevee, eating a high protien, nutrient rich breakfast determines your blood sugar levels for the whole day...If you eat sugared cereal, or drink coffee your blood sugar will rise but will not stay high no matter what you eat later. You are not stating if your are sleepy during the day, or trouble getting going in the morning, but this should help, may take a few days to see the difference I use guarana, its a herb that has natural caffeine, it doesn't seem to affect me like coffee does, and I have used it many years, without any problems.

exercise is very good. if you exercise it increases your testostorone and energy levels. cutting yourself and putting lemon juice in the wounds is not something that you should ever do though, that is just self harm.

carbo rich foods...candy chocolate and sugar foods keeps energy high, soda and juices too

Supposedly eating an apple will keep you awake more that caffine ( plus it's a lot healthier than coffee!)
