The best answer is the simplest, if you eat a healthy balanced diet you don't need to take any supplements, vitamins etc. unless you're pregnant and the doctor tells you what extra ones you might need.

Too many vitamins and 'supplements' can actually be bad for you, see link.

Eating a good diet is by far the most effective way to keep healthy, but it is not always easy to know if you are getting everything you need to remain Healthy.
I have recently found one supplement that seems to do, "what it says on the Tin," and is good for all round general health. Its called Rice Bran and Germ oil and since I have been taking it I have had improved sleep, a lot more energy and I just feel better than I have in years, it is said to boost the immune system and has no known side effects with anything.
And it is not a combination of different multi-vits Just 2 capsules per day.
You can get them here:

Multivitamins---they say that those from natural sources are better---either by eating rainbow colors of fruits and veggies every day(which isn't possible)or by getting a quality multivitamin that's from a natural source---I take phytoplankton because that got ALL the vitamins, minerals, trace elements(i.e.iodine),amino acids and more. I take it since almost one year and I haven't been sick with anything this year.....

Hi Brandi. The Standard American Diet (SAD) does not provide adequate levels of many vitamins and minerals (RDA levels). Inadequate intakes of vitamins and minerals can contribute to developing many chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and some cancers. Consequently, in 2002 the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) recommended the use of a daily multi-vitamin/mineral supplement for all adults.

It is important to understand that supplements do NOT replace a healthy diet. They should be taken to SUPPORT a healthy diet.

Best wishes and good luck.

Nothing really, just eat a healthy balanced diet. Unless you have a diagnosed deficiency you don't need to supplement vitamins and some have been linked to cancer.

Vitamin C and B-complex. These are normally found in multivitamins.
