Can I use Valerian Root as a anxiety/stress relief pill?!

Question: Can I use Valerian Root as a anxiety/stress relief pill?
I found some herbs at the store, "Valerian Root (Promotes Sleep)"
It says to take 3 caplets 30 min before sleep.
I took 2 just to test it out, I managed to stay awake about 4 hours before falling asleep.
Can it also be used to relieve stress?
The bottle doesn't say anything on it about stress.
I'm wondering if I have to find another bottle somewhere that says "Valerian Root (Anxiety)"

Sure it will, if you believe it.

Pure placebo.

Supplements have never been shown to promote health and may even be detrimental. I can't believe how many people have been suckered into buying this trash.

Valerian root is ideal for stress. You may or may not know that they took the active component that "chill" you to make valium.

It is a strong herb though so I wouldn't recommend using it long term, it can also cause headaches with long term use.

Perhaps it is worth looking at the causes of your stress and see if you can get a longer term solution if you find the valerian does not help after a few days.

I have attached a page from my website, although it says aromatherapy for depression, it is more about emotions and feelings.

Let me know if you need any further help or advice.

yes, it can be used to calm the nerves just the same, but I would only take 1. and Anxiety and Stress are 2 different things..

eliminating caffeine can also help tremendously with anxiety. Just go 90 days with no caffeine and you can start having your morning coffee or afternoon soda again as long as you keep it reasonable.

Yeah i think you can

You could try that with St.John's Wart.It does work.Drink herbal tea as well.
