Question: Is Pepacid AC good for gastritis?
I've taken Tums but I exceed the max you can take within only a couple of hours. So I need something more effective. Will this help?

Yes this medication does help but sometimes taking meds like Pepacid, tums and mylanta and what not will actually worsen the gastritis. Although they do relieve the symptoms, they will not cure them. When your stomach gets used to the antacids, they will begin to lose effect in the long run. There are some natural remedies, however. For example, digestive enzymes and i heard pomegranate juice helps a lot as well. I have gastritis and what i do sometimes is drink milk. A glass of milk in the morning will coat the stomach. Yogurt works very well too. sometimes when i drink a soda or some coffee symptoms being at night and i have no other choice but to take an antacid like Mylanta (which by the way, helps much more than Tums). Try to control your gastritis rather than just relieve the symptoms.

Digestive enzyme supplements..they work! My mother is 85% improved within less than a year so far (had gastritis for 25 years!) Forget the acid lowering drugs...read how digestion works and you will see that 95% who think they have high acid, in fact have LOW!
