What does it mean when you "Tingle" during meditation?!

Question: What does it mean when you "Tingle" during meditation?
I have only been doing meditations for the past 3 or so nights for about 10-15 minutes. I wouldn't say I have ever gotten close to losing physical conciousness or getting in to a 'trance' per say.
I usually begin by just trying to feel instead of think... not saying i dont think during this I just think less and try to feel the aliveness in my body, sometimes I try to visualise my body surrounded in a bubble of protective love energy and, the same love energy being sucked into my body to be absorbed through the top of my head...then re-eneergising and cleansing all of my cells and third eye point. I try to imagine this energy filling me and lifting me so my bed is floating from the floor... When I do this I cannot visualise this vividly but I try to do the best I can...and what I have found is I get the following sensations.

I might get a quick sudden/sharp pain in the knee, or the foot for a split second.

I get that feeling of "shivers down your spine" that you get when you sit on a cold toilet seat, but all over the body...

I get a general tingling sensation in my face (as if using toner), and body.

I might at some point or another get an itchy head, or area near face for example... the side of my right eye, or skull area.

This feels like somone is lightly touching you or touching your hair... a very light pressure...

Is this all a GOOD thing? What does it signify? Am I too inexperienced in meditiation to be getting benefits just yet?

Would you buy a new sports car and drive it wide open every where you went
even though you don't know the roads?

You seem to be entering unfamiliar territory here also. Meditation is usually
safe but I think it is something you grow into. It is something you invite to happen
and something you allow to happen, but I do not think it wise to rush it or force it.

We don't know, your soul may have a long history of meditation and know exactly
what to do that is best for you. Invite that. Be patient and cooperate with your

higher self. Remember, that which you seek - is seeking you.

Make Friends with your higher self and have an ideal, a reason for
meditation.

Basically you're just noticing your 'chi' flow, the more you meditate, the more you should feel like you're floating through space.

The occasional pain, is where the chi gets blocked, and trying to push through, to reduce the pain, you could place your hands over it, that should let everything flow more freely.

probably the way you are sitting is reducing the flow of blood to certain parts of your body, you move, flow is restored, and the feeling is there. think its actually cappilaries that are filling with blood that gives the feeling.

Your feeling of tingling could have a purely physical explanation unrelated to meditation, or it could indicate that you are slowly relaxing and noticing the energizing feeling of that relaxation. No matter what the reason, focusing on explaining this feeling will reduce the benefits of meditation because you are supposed to be freeing yourself from your perception and attachments. Thinking disturbed the ability to experience purely and people become attached to feeling a specific way. After I had meditated for a time, I had certain experiences thst I sought to replicate because of their special feeling. It took me years to realize I was pursuing the wrong thing and that I was thwarting the full benefits of meditation. I had forgotten one of the lessons of my teacher, to ignore any thoughts or feelings that I had and maintain the practice of meditation.

You are already feeling the benefits I think. You are experiencing the flow of energy (chi). It often comes through as a tingling sensation. I practice reiki and my hands tingle and fizz with the same sensations when I work on myself and on others - perfectly normal! Keep doing it and with time, you will notice your health improving and your stress levels dropping. A great thing to do.

The most important factor in meditation is equanimity.

Why do you do meditation?
The goal is not the sensations.
The goal is getting rid of suffering.

So during meditation you will get all kind of sensations.
They are JUST sensations.
So just observe them.
There is nothing good or bad.
And what is the meaning of a sensation is not a science.
Use the new consciousness in your daily life and you can grow.

For instance : you will feel quickly when you are reacting in a bad way.
When you train yourself in just observing the body, the reaction will fade away quickly.
So the whole reaction and its effect will be much smaller on the body/mind.
In the end there will be no reaction anymore.
No reaction = no harm.

Vipassana is the SIMPLE observing of reality.
With the deconditioning-process,
you will understand the benefits.
Goenka style is interesting, and the organisation works donation based.

Be careful : some people are not ready for meditation.
If you suffer from mental dis-ease (from depression to the heavy stuff) it's good to see
for professionals to guide/advise you.

Experience of what happens through SIMPLE OBSERVATION is true understanding.

Don't visualise things that are not there.
