you can ask, whether he'll do it or not I don't know.

Seriously? You think you can't function with the adderall.. but what I'm reading seems to contradict that. Doctors and parents these days disgust me. They will put kids on drugs without thinking twice just to fix the problem.

Do you know what adderall does? other than being ADD meds of course?

adderall is an amphetamine. aka a METH derivative. Yes, like meth.. the illegal drug. also if you didn't know they're equally addictive. both have physical withdrawal symptoms associated with regular use.

You are experiencing insomnia and lack of appetite because the adderall (both are side effects of amphetamines). Going on another drug like marinol is not going to help. Why would you use one drug to go against the side effects of another? You''ll be a hypochondriac pill popper for life.

It sounds to me like you don't have ADD enough to warrant using the adderall. Any normal person will be able to focus better when taking amphetamines regardless of having ADD or not. it's just how the drug works. If i were you, I'd try to take yourself off it. The long term side effects of adderall are not pretty...

decide now if you want to be taking this for the rest of your life.. and upping doses every couple years.. and eventually becoming seemingly immune to it.. then you'll have some real fun trying to find a replacement or drive yourself nuts trying to quit it.

20mg doses are still low.. it's not too late to stop taking it. some kids i've met that i personally think NEED it take 60mg at least twice daily... 20mg means you're "ADD" is arguable at best.
If you really insist you NEED it.. then skip your last dose for a week (just take the first 2) and see if you're sleep improves... i gaurantee it will. as far as appetite, it will never fully come back until you start becoming used to your dosage (in which case the next trip to your doctors you'll prob feel like it isn't working anymore.. and he'll just up your dose again) or until you quit taking those completely.

don't let your parents convince you that you have ADD just because they're too lazy to do some real parenting or find that you aren't excelling academically like they "expect" you to.

it seriously disgusts me that little kids are being put on meth at such a young age these days (i'm talking about the 10yr or younger group). sketchy pharmaceutical industry...they justify putting kids on METH.. convincing their gullible parents that it will calm them down.. then what? they now have a subscriber for life. higher doses, more $$$$. constant cash flow for them. And the side effects of this are unmanageable so we have people like you who look for other drugs to help w/ those side effects. It's just plain unethical and it peeves me that more people don't realize this.

I could be totally wrong too. Maybe you're just getting a scrip of addy's to sell and now you want to make even more illegal $$ by getting a scrip for marinol. i guess that's always a possibility.

dam /end rant. going to sleep.

Why the CRAP do you need Marinol? I see no legit reason reading this that you need Marinol. Okay, you have ADHD. I understand. Do you know how many people have ADHD? Honestly, you're not alone on that. The medication you're taking for your ADHD is making you have trouble sleeping and eating. It's a side effect. It's life. Your body will adjust and you'll be fine. What's Marinol going to do? Marinol is worse for you than pot is. Also, it doesn't get you high.

Calling him isn't going to get it prescribed to answer your question fully.

And to be kind of a b*tch, deal with your ADHD and the side effects of your medication. Blunting them with something else only makes life a little more crappy. If I went to my doctor and asked her for a stimulant because my Topamax made me drowsy and I couldn't deal with it, well, first of all she probably wouldn't have given it to me. Second of all, I probably wouldn't have adjusted to it. I didn't eat with Topamax either.

Accept it. Move on.

doctor's don't usually just give a prescription over the phone. going to his office may change your odds.

Marinol doesn't give you a high, by the way.
