Question: Is there anything that can help my crazy emotional PMS?
The week before my period causes me so many problems because of how emotional and depressed I am. After my period starts I am fine, but the few days leading up to it are h*ll! Is there anything that can help? It affects my work, my marriage and my happiness and it's driving me crazy. I'm usually a very happy, out going, friendly person but when I have PMS I will have a terrible attitude, lash out at people, cry about really stupid stuff and just be so sad and worried. I have talked to my doctor and she has tried putting me on like 10 different kinds of birth control over the years (not at once of course) to try and help but nothing seams to make it better, there were several that actually made it worse. I even tried not taking any BC for like 6 months to see if it was the BC doing it to me, but everything was still the same. If anyone else out there has had this problem, I would love some advice on what can help be to be in a better mood for my week of torture every month :-) Thanks

Evening Primrose Oil works beautifully for me. Pop two in the morning and another two mid to late afternoon. Lots of exercise (cardiovascular) works very well also.



It may help to change what you are eating. Cut out caffeine, sugar, salt, alcohol. Basically eat healthy. It may take about four months for it to kick in. I was never particularly grumpy around my period. Well,no more than usual. But I used to get really bad cramps for a few hours on the first day and these have disappeared since I cut out the processed foods.
