Pain after liver/gallbladder cleanse- what's going on?!

Question: Pain after liver/gallbladder cleanse- what's going on?
I recently followed Dr. Hulda Clark's protocol for Liver/Gallbladder cleanse, which involves a ton of apple juice, epson salt, olive oil, and grapefruit. I followed the protocol, but experienced moderate pain in my side, back, and joints afterward. I repeated the cleanse, thinking maybe I had clogged a bile duct. The pain still remains. I have been drinking alot of water, and made myself a green drink today. I am in pain, what is going on? I can't afford to visit the doc right now- please only answer if you have experienced/overseen this sort of cleanse, and can suggest something other than going to the doctor. Thanks.

Please don't listen to people without experience with this cleanse. You don't say why you did this cleanse or if you were having liver/gallbladder/pancreas sympptoms prior to the cleanse. Yes, you can cause a bile duct obstruction. You would expect to see yellowing of the whites of yer eyes, palms, and eventually your whole skin. You sound like you have flu type symptoms. This may mean you have created more problems in your liver than you have relieved. I have seen many good results with this flush and have had people collect greenish sand and stones that passed with their feces. Most stones are fairly soft and can pass through the duct. You may have inflammation of the gallbladder, liver pathology or something unrelated like the flu. If your symptoms pass quickly don't worry. Other wise, too bad, so sad. get evaluated and have blood work done. So I hope you arn't a stoopid person. take my advice by having lab work and ultrasound of the gallbladder etc!!

Hulda Clark was a fraud and a quack. You cannot cleanse your liver or gall bladder. These cleanses are all dangerous alternative medicine scams. If you don't start improving soon, then you will need medical assistance.

fusepark is dead on correct.
I HAD a clogged bile duct when a gallstone took a sidetrip and I turned a lovely shade of yellow and my pee was the color of cola.

You been snookered. There's no such thing as a Liver/gallbladder cleanse. Go to the emergency room. They won't turn you away. Just tell them you can't pay. They'll understand.

You do not have a blocked bile duct. You would be turning yellow and experiencing other symptoms if that were the case. Nor did you need a "cleanse" of any kind. Your liver and gall bladder are remarkably resilient and go about their daily tasks with no interference from you. Unless you have liver or gall bladder disease, the hepatic and biliary systems are among the toughest you possess. You could lose the majority of your liver to donation and it would simply grow back. It needs little help. Most advocates of such "cleanses" could not even name the #1 toxin your liver spends its day breaking down.

(Ammonia from protein metabolism, by the way).

Now what you probably have managed to do is give your kidneys a workout by loading up with magnesium. What you should do from here is resume a normal, balanced diet with a range of nutrients. Next time you want to be nice to your liver, avoid alcohol and tylenol for a couple of weeks and arrange for your hepatitis A&B vaccinations. That's about all you need to do for your liver. As for your gall bladder, keep your cholesterol in a normal range, avoid giant fatty meals, and know you can live happily without it.

If you're not feeling better in a few days, please do see a doctor.
