You have to take the entire course of pills before you get they will work. Usually about 5 days to a week.

You can't just take one pill and expect to get better right away, they are antibiotics not magic pills.

They are absorbed better on an empty stomach - they will be somewhat more effective if you can give them an hour's space before taking food.

BUT: you need to take them regularly, and it'sfar better to take them straight before a meal (with the slight compromise that entails) than to forget to take them at all because you were trying to leave a gap!
