Hot water mixed with some honey and lemon always does the trick. The lemon kills off any bacteria, but might sting - so if preferable you can leave it out - the honey will soothe your throat.

I actually find eating hard food works... this hardens the tissue. Try crisps/chips. Other than that, maybe honey and a salt-watered mouth wash. The only real thing that heals is time...
