Question: What does it mean if it feels like you have growing pains after acupuncture (to treat poor circulation)?
I went to get acupuncture today, because I have poor blood circulation. The main sign was that my feet were really red, and turned white if I poked them/put my feet above my head. Now, my feet are pretty normal colored (not red), but it feels like I have growing pains on my calves (like when you get taller). Is this normal? What does it mean? Or is it a coincidence?
Also, I'm 17, if that makes a difference. I did grow maybe half an inch in the past year, if thats relevant.

Answers:

It's very likely that you're feeling the proper nerve impulses and circulation returning to your legs and feet. You won't stop growing until you're about 22 years old. The muscles in your calf play a major role in returning circulation to your heart.

Correlation does not necessarily imply causation. Acupuncture is a placebo treatment - it has no biophysical effect, so your leg pain is probably related to something else. What makes you think you have poor circulation?

the only thing it might be is an abscess developing where you had needles stuck into yourself. Sham homeopathy treatment with toothpicks has been shown to be effective than the real thing
