they have been proven to be a total scam by investigators here in Canada. Even the people working for them admitted it on camera.

Keep your money.

Herbalife has a large variety of products, each with different ingredients... not all of them are automatically safe for every person.
Don't get me wrong, supplements and natural herbs typically have MUCH less side effects than any drug on the market and are generally safe, but there are some with specific warnings on them because certain people can't have them. For example, Chromium has a warning that any diabetics or hypoglycemics should consult their doctor first because it can make you more sensitive to insulin, which can change your blood sugar levels (potentially dangerous for those people, but also potentially helpful). There are some of their products that have caffeine (available naturally or synthetically) and some people can't have caffeine due to heart troubles, hypertension, etc. Ginkgo Biloba is an herb in one of their products that's great for brain health, but has some blood-thinning properties and isn't appropriate for everyone. I could go on, but you get the point.

They have a good reputation for general quality so they shouldn't be contaminated or cause major problems, but there are still warnings where they are appropriate... just because it's natural doesn't mean it's safe (Arsenic is natural, after all). As long as you don't apply to the warnings on a product, there should be nothing to worry about. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Health/nutrition classes and personal research in my role as a Product Specialist for a vitamin company (I've looked into their products)

They've been around for years. Yes, they're safe. No side effects -- those are caused by prescription drugs, not herbal/nutritional supplements.
You'll burn more body fat by avoiding foods that contain gluten and sugar.

They are safe to use in combination with pie. 2 pies a day keeps the illnesses away!
