i believe i have Cystitis, what natural cures are there?!

Question: I believe i have Cystitis, what natural cures are there?
I dont want to have to take anti-biotics as i feel where natural cures are available theyll be more beneficial to me

Does anyone know of any natural cures available out there from health shops?

Please dont suggest cranberry juice as this doesnt seem to work and from ive read only prevents you from getting cystitis and isnt very helpful once youve got it!

Thanks!

You're right about one thing, cranberry juice sometimes relieves the symptoms of cystitis but it cannot cure it.

Cystitis is invariably caused by a bacterial infection, 90% of which is caused by E.Coli, I'm afraid that there's only one treatment that gets rid of E.Coli and that's antibiotics, NO NATURAL REMEDIES KILL E. COLI

EDIT: Drinking bicarb or barley water doesn't kill bacteria.

Bicarbonate of soda in a glass of water is supposed to help, and drink plenty of water. Avoid coffee and tea, as they seem to make it worse. There are powders you can get from the chemist (Cystocalm is one) which might help.
Please don't suffer too long with this. I once avoided going to the doctor and tried all the trad remedies, and ended up with a really severe kidney infection that kept me off work for a fortnight. Ironically, I didn't go the doctor's because I felt I was indispensible at work!
You live and learn!
Good luck, and I hope it gets sorted soon, as I know what a misery it can be.

There is NO natural cure!

You're already aware of what can be used as a preventative, if your cystitis does not get better than you can end up with a UTI that spreads to your kidneys, putting you in a very serious condition that might end up with you in hospital.

Get this stupid "natural cures" nonsense out of you head and see a doctor.

Lots and lots of water, drink pints of it to flush your bladder out, cranberry juice does work, I don't know where you are but in the UK we can buy powders from the supermarket that sort it out but if it's bad you got to have antibiotics, you can get kidney infections if it's not sorted

Drink half a pint of water with a quarter teaspoon of bicaronate of soda every half hour for no more than 3 hours.
Be very careful not to overdo the bicarb.
If you have a heart condition skip the bicarb and dring barley water.
This will reduce the acidity of your urine.

drinking lots of water, this flushes it out.. you can get these powder things from a chemist that you drink but they take a while to work :)

see a real doctor who can make a diagnosis - then decide what you want to take

Potassium Citrate should work, you can buy it from a pharmacy behind the counter, 10mls in a glass of water three times a day for a few days, tastes pretty bland but its better than cystitis!!
