Hi!
Quitting ain't easy!.. or so they say. But, it depends on the person.
There's a link to an article below that gives some good advice, hope it proves useful.
Good luck, and whatever you do to quit...stick with it, it'll be worth it in the end!

There are a ton of ways to quit smoking, but it's difficult to pick one that will be successful. Several recent studies have found that only using one method alone won't be as successful as using two different methods together after talking with your doctor.

There's a great guide out that lists 17 different ways to quit smoking and compares their costs, success rates and where to get them: http://whatworkstoquit.tobacco-cessation.org. It's an independent website so no one's trying to sell you a product.

Quitting smoking is totally possible and you will save a ton of money that you normally would spend on cigarettes.

Eat sunflower seeds or chew gum. They help to reduce the senses.
Take away everything that reminds you of smoking.
Stop radically; it gives you the best chance of success.
Change your eating and drinking habits. Drink a lot of water, eat a lot of fresh fruit and be aware of 'pleasure drinks' like coffee, tea and alcohol.
Take care of enough physical relaxation. Go for a walk or a ride or go swimming.
Reward yourself. Do nice things or give yourself something, like a cd or clothes.
If you fall back, don't give up. Find out in what situation it happened and try to find out with what (alternative) behaviour you can react in the future. If you manage to come through the same situation next time, you have become stronger.

It honestly depends on the person. Not one method will work for everyone. The one that helped my grandpa stop smoking was getting a piece of candy everytime he wanted a smoke. Gum is also a popular method, you chew it everytime you feel you need a smoke. Those are two of the most effective ones I've seen used.

I have seen smokers do well on the patch. Just do not smoke with it on.

Nicotene patches worked for me
