Dont take Gingko because of your anti-depressant drug taking, it is contraindicated. That means DONT take it at present.

Your brain needs 3 vital ingredients- water(pure ), oxygen(rich supply) and also glucose(food). Make sure you get that right first before dosing yourself.
Also for depression get some serious exercise, get some decent protein rich food and get a life changing goal.
And get rid of any drug merchant doctors!

I know one person who swears gingko biloba helps his memory and several more who say it did nothing for them. I would say it's more likely that it doesn't than that it does. If you're on medication that gingko biloba might interact with, you're best off following doctor's advice and not taking the gingko biloba. Herbal medicines are drugs, even if they're natural, and mixing the wrong drugs has disastrous results.

Valerian is good for helping people fall asleep and for easing anxiety. However, it makes me feel wider awake. Go figure. And if you are on medication, always run any herbal medicine or supplement you want to take by your doctor, and only take it if the doctor says it's okay. Drug interactions are one of the biggest hazards.

Ginkgo biloba has brain and nerve-supporting properties. It also helps with anxiety and depression although it may have counteracting effects with some medication. Valerian is a good nerve sedating herb.

There have been studies on this. Some studies say it works, others say it doesn't make any difference.
