How do you measure Qigong Energy?!

I agree Dave, there are many alternative 'remedies that work', things like homoeopathy and acupuncture, but they only work as placebo and and on a small percentage of people and only on some ailments that can't be seen or measured, when these 'remedies that work' are put to a scientific test, for some reason they fail to perform.

The well respected TV program HORIZON for instance put up the funds to challenge James Randi on homoeopathy, the trial, the protocols of which were mutually agreed by the JREF forum and several teaching hospitals failed to show any measurable benefit.

Perhaps someone in China would do the same thing for Qigong Energy, if it can be measured as claimed, it would be extremely simple to set up a protocol, much easier than the one for homoeopathy, then we could consign Qigong Energy to the same fairytale book as the others.

If you haven't got the details of the challenege here they are, I look forward to the usual excuses, please don't rubbish JR though, there are ten other similar challenges around the world ready to step into the breech.

James Randi's $1,000,000 is registered with Goldman Sachs if you bothered reading my link, are they quacks also? did you read that there are 10 other similar challenges around the world? are thay all quacks also?, are you the only one in step?

i currently study acupuncture at university, i dont know how they measure qi/chi/energy but the chinese had some strange ideals and beliefs that we as a western society may not understand but a lot of it actually works. as for acupuncture and homeopathy working and no scientific based evidence, maybe you need to do a little more research yourself. there are a lot of successful studies with acupuncture. it is hard to measure in a scientific way because it there are too many extraneous variables and you cant just lump all patients in one category because they show a specific symptom unlike western medicine and science it is a lot more personal. maybe you should experience recieving some acupuncture treatment. its amazing how a persons colour, pulse, body temp, emotional state can all change after the insertion of a few needles. it may not always cure or be successful but it always has some sort of affect on the human body.

Well, you won't get an answer from the person who made the claim; s/he always ignores questions s/he is unable to answer about claims s/he is unable to defend.

But I'm looking forward to any other explanations.

Bless his little adolescent heart, he's never heard of qigong energy before, but will still chip in to say it works. Reminds me of his three word answer to a stage 4 cancer patient looking for help a few months ago - 'Try some herbs'

I'm pretty sure the unit for measuring qi energy is "quantums".

until the last century years no one could measure the energy of lightning, but they weren't stupid enough to stand on top of their house in a thunderstorm in denial of it's existence. (oh, so now we concede that personal observation, anecdotal evidence is valid? hypocrites.)

I believe it exists. It is life force or life energy.

How do you measure it ?? am not sure.

Perhaps after vigorously rubbing your hands together you should feel a tingling or a pull between your palm.

Hover your hands over crystals and see if you feel something from them.

EDIT : I have not tested myself no..apart from acupuncture. I followed a doc in his investigation on BBC..and he had to admit that the results worked.

Yes there has been trials and proved to work. On animals also !!! So you cannot pretend that animals are going to lie.

There are so many things which are not YET understood by the West but it does not mean that they do not exist !!

James Randi is a quack of his own...super hypocritical and makes experiences fail on purpose.

EDIT ; IT WAS A SERIES LED BY A MEDICAL DOCTOR IN BRITAIN AND OVER MANY MANY WEEKS. THE DOC WAS OPEN MINDED AND INVESTIGATED ALL THOSE ALTERNATIVE MEDICINES.

IN THE US DOCTOR OZ ALSO ADVOCATES THEM AND RECOGNISES THEM.
