Is the homeopathic drug, Deprex, FDA approved?!

Question: Is the homeopathic drug, Deprex, FDA approved?
I'm on zoloft right now and I'm thinking of switching to Deprex. I had severe depression and anxiety before going on zoloft and now I feel fine, however I can't cry or express my emotions as easily as I used to. I'm also worried about the sexual side-effects because I hope to be sexually active soon. I saw an ad for deprex and it said that I wouldn't have those side-effects, so I wanted to know if it is legit and if it would be beneficial to switch to it in my case. This would all be under a doctor's watchful eye. Thanks.

Answers:

Any genuine homeopathic 'drug' actually contains only water or just sugar. Homeopathy is a placebo 'treatment', it does not have ANY effect on the human body.

This is fine for things such as "I feel a bit icky" or "I feel a bit tired and rundown" but for real medical conditions such as depression and anxiety it could obviously be very dangerous.

No, it is NOT approved by the FDA for treatment of depression or anxiety, because it has not been shown to work for those conditions. In fact, it's not actually been shown to work for anything.

Questions such as this should really be directed at your doctor instead of at us strangers and quacks on the internet.

If Deprex is really a homeopathic preparation then I'm afraid it will do no good for you aside from the placebo effect. Homeopathy is just water and it's based on pseudoscientific principles that contradict what we know of chemistry and physics. It's never been proven to work.

No.
The FDA doesn't approve 'homeopathic' medicines, because they don't contain medicine.
There is no scientific evidence that homeopathy has any validity.

Please read, or listen to this blog by Brian Dunning that talks about homeopathy.

No it is not a Homoeopathic remedy since it is a harmful drug in crude form.

The FDA is a clearing house for pharmaceutical products. Homeopathic medicines fall into a different category, as do herbal remedies and nutritional supplements. So no, it's not FDA approved.
The FDA has "approved" a whack of drugs like Vioxx that killed 200,000 people before it was pulled off the market. The FDA is not a consumer protection agency. Zoloft has a lot of toxic negative effects, so it's a good idea to find something that does the job without doing harm to your system.
Deprex is a combo. remedy. Classical Homeopaths don't prescribe combo. remedies for a variety of reasons. It may work for you and it may not. The latest research indicates that properly prescribed Homeopathic remedies work better with no side effects when compared to conventional drugs. So your best bet is to see a professional Homeopath who can determine which single remedy will treat the cause of your depression. Some conventional doctors are receptive to homeopathy and others aren\t because it's major competition to the drug marketplace.
You live in your body, your doctor doesn't. You're a better judge of what works for you than anyone else.

Homeopathy is not approved by the FDA. Many who sit on the FDA boards to approve drugs are also paid by pharmaceutical companies which is an obvious conflict of interest. Zoloft can cause sexual dysfunction and in some cases permanent sexual dysfunction. Anti depressants have been found to only work via placebo effect. This was discovered by an honest FDA reviewer who blew the lid in 2008, however the drug companies tried to hide this information along with increased risk of suicide and homicide. Black box warnings for increased risk of suicide is now on every anti depressant. The homeopathic drug will have no side effects. Along with this remedy, is many other safe alternatives. Anti depressants need to be withdrawn from slowly to avoid severe withdrawal symptoms.
