Could this be a Thyroid problem? Help!!?!

Question: Could this be a Thyroid problem? Help!!?
I had 2 colds back in Nov. and the 2nd cold started off with shortness of breath and coughing. It's gone now (cough is)
but ever since then I've had Non-stop shortness of breath.
I have it right now.... and my doctor said that my thyroid levels were a little high
I've had some chest pain and fullness the past few days, could that be the thyroid problem??
I feel really terrible all the time.
The shortness of breath 24/7 is awful. My neck hurts a lot.... and I get headaches rather often now.
My parents won't take me to a doctor,so is this all with the thyroid you think or could it be something else? Also, I missed my period in this month (dec) and thyroid problems can cause irregular periods it says.
HELP??

Any answer helps!

Answers:

Yep. Shortness of breath is a cardiac symptom of Thyroid disease.

your thyroid functions a the "idle" setting mechanism on an engine. It can make the engine (or your body) run too fast or too slow. It could cause the breathing symptom you describe if your heart is beating too fast. Do you have wt loss, trouble sleeping, hyperactivity? It seems that the Dr wouldve treated you for this if it was a significant lab finding. Thyroid issues are completely unrelated to your recent illnesses/colds. You are correct about menstrual irreg, but a missed period should be reported to Dr. Any chance you are pregnant?
