Can anyone give me some good home remedies for an ear infection?!

Question: Can anyone give me some good home remedies for an ear infection?
For the past two days I've had a crazy painful ear infection. I have an appointment with my dr. in 2 days. However, I cannot bear the pain and was wondering if anyone has any good home remedies. I was told heat relieves the pain, but doesn't heat cause bacteria to grow? Here are some of my symptoms:
-Pain when i move my jaw or tug my lobe
-"plugged" ear (as if I'm wearing an ear plug in the infected ear.)
-clear discharge
-itchiness
-throbbing

have someone blow smoke in your ear----this is Not a joke
put a few drops of pee in it-----this really works, my fiance's mother did this when he had ear aches. I AM NOT KIDDING

A hot compress will really relieve the pain. If you heat a damp washcloth or paper towel (folded up) for about 10-15 seconds in the microwave, then put a dry cloth around it and very carefully hold it against the affected ear, it can relieve the pain and even that clogged feeling for a few minutes. The heat can also help dry the ear canal, so if its swimmers ear it can help it get better. Drink warm liquids too, even if its just warm water.

Ear drops. Prescription ear drops such as antipyrine-benzocaine (Aurodex) may provide additional pain relief

A warm compress may lessen pain
