What's the best path in terms of training for practicing natural medicine?!

Question: What's the best path in terms of training for practicing natural medicine?
I'm 20 yrs old and a biology student at the moment. I think I want to become a Naturopath, but I'm still exploring other options. What is the best way to do this? Become a doctor via med school and then study natural medicine? Go straight to Naturopathy school right after college? Just study natural medicine? Become a nurse and study natural medicine also? There are so many paths available! Do you have any opinions or experiences on this? I'd love to hear your advice!

most of it is pure quackery. You'd be required to ditch most of what you've been taught in Biology.

Perhaps you should consider a more legitimate profession? There is only one kind of medicine, and that's the kind that works. If you want to be a Doctor then go to medical school.

There are several Naturapathic schools that are highly regarded including Bastyr. There are many Oriental medical schools, and acupuncture is licensed and respected throughout the country. Both require undergraduate degrees and are stringent studies.

Remember that you're still essentially studying health, so you really need a firm education in that first. Qualifying as an MD will give you the tools and experience to treat patients correctly. Most naturopath schools require little if any entrance qualifications and are basically degree mills.

Yes, there are lots of options. Lots of MD's feel very controlled by the drug companies and health insurance companies and are becoming very disillusioned and unhappy with the direction that conventional medicine is taking.
I'd go straight to Naturopathy College. You'll feel much more empowered by being able to see the positive impact you're having on your patients.
Conventional medicine is managed disease care. It's not focussed on disease prevention and can't cure anything. If people were happy with it they wouldn't be looking for alternatives.
