Cold water has a tendency to produce cramping, peristaltic contractions and difficult to hold. It is useful when the previous enema did not return completely.
Why on earth would you preform a cold water enema on yourself ? - apart from a risk of perforation on the rectal cavity wall.
The bowels and rectum serve a purpose of elimination, provided you eat healthy and drink good amounts of fluid why would you want want to interfere with this?
stomach/intestinal cramps.
use warm water.
